In part why I love them: heres an excerpt of their philosphy...
In 2004, we founded Apolis with a simple idea that people can live better lives if they are given equal access to opportunity. Our travels abroad immersed us in personal stories of struggle and survival that inspired us to create a business model that bridges commerce and sustainable development. A model which we call advocacy through industry.
Apolis is featured in the May issue of NYLON GUYS (which is one of the best to date) read here for more.
What everyone can appreciate is when great clothes come from designers who are 1) socially conscious 2) globally aware 3) supportive of artisan crafts. Apolis puts forward great products made by people who's hands and skills are rare to find in a world run by mass production. I will always pick a tie crafted by a person over a machine any day of the week. By supporting small, artisan companies you make all of those involved relevant in todays industry.
